Others found absolutely nothing. The results have been surprisingly inconsistent. It started with Maurice Allais during the 1954 total solar eclipse. Allais reported an unexpected change in the behavior of his specially designed paraconical pendulum. The observation eventually became known as the Allais Effect. But the story didn't end there.
During the February 15, 1961 solar eclipse, Gheorghe Jeverdan, Gheorghe Rusu and Virgil Antonescu reported a change in the oscillation period of a Foucault-type pendulum. Then, during the March 7, 1970 total solar eclipse, Erwin Saxl and Mildred Allen used a torsion pendulum and reported another unusual change.
