Wind gusts of 100 km called a rare historical bomb cyclone equivalent to a Category 2 hurricane hit Colorado Springs  late morning on Wednesday, March 13, 2019. In eastern Colorado and western Kansas recorded barometric pressures hit cat 2 winds. The bomb cyclones occur over the ocean, such as when Nor’easters form off the coast of North Carolina.
