Retailers Closing Trend Le Chateau

A Kingdom Divided Can not Stand

By Veronica Davis October 23 2020

Canada was never known for fashion. People in Central America assumed no one lived up North. When I first arrived here they were right. As i grew up as a teenager i was the odd one buying vogue magazines at twelve.
Why? Because the magazines were right there infront of the Grocerie line up right next to the cashier. Years later i noticed Le Chateau retail store in my neighbourhood. The trendiest store in the mall..you had to look like a model to work here. The sizes were so small. That was in 1990. Looking forward. Fashion was a small industry here in Winnipeg.
A Kingdom divided cannot stand. Eventhough if it tries. Fashion  Kingdoms and Fashion dynasties come and go. Le Chateau were one of the leading fashion houses before fashion even existed in Canada.
A 60 year old retail company filing for bankruptcy today. I guess it does not look that bad when it is during a pandemic right?
Le Chateau means the castle in French. But …

After traveling back from Bruxxels(Brussels) Belgium I did not expect quarantine next. I am very blessed to not be sick after my trip. But the 14 day mandatory quarantine was unexpected. I mean we are in a pandemic and eventhough, wearing the masks all over in airport, airplane and some streets in Belgium ie. Like buying food...I searched for groceries delivery and called around. Safeway did not deliver. I gave up.
Calling directly to some restaurants left me in hang ups. Pizza hut and Subway restaurant did not due their diligence never picking up the phone only to hang up in the end.But back home I ordered groceries direct from a store such as Save on Foods. The delivery…

Belgium a country full of history. If you are interested in knowing the historical facts of mediaval castles and knights this is where you start. You really do not need to read a book to understand this history. You will find it  sculpted on old stone buildings.
I recommend you start in Bruxxels a place that is at the heart of castles. There was the Light part of history such as the Cathedrals but there you can find the dark part of history like the Dark ages.
What do I mean of this?
For example, you will find in the Town Square on buildings stone carved gargoyles or demonic winged creatures. These ancient satanic form of sculptures was another form of worshipping the dark side. So walking the past amid the covid-19 crisis was a spiritual one.
Starting from the Warwick Hotel you are in the center of everything. Excellent service for the tourists.  Around the corner from the town square there a bronze…
