A 10 km depth powerful magnitude 7.5 earthquake hit 30 km (19 miles) away from Moron, Carabobo, Venezuela, in the late afternoon of Wednesday, Jun 24, 2026 at 6.05 pm local time (America/Caracas GMT -4). The epicenter latitude and longitude are10.4351°N / 68.4716°W. A minute earlier a 6.4 magnitude and 20 km depth 3 km SE of Yumare, Venezuela. While the death toll number is not exact so far it is estimated nearly 1,943 and about 69,000 remain missing. After many days without electricity it has been restored. Some media reports have claimed that entire neighborhoods vanished. La Guaira, Venezuela has been the most affected area. Some 800 buildings have been reported totally destroyed due to poor construction. Some people have been found alive under the concrete buildings after 5 days since June 24, 2026 . On the second day after the earthquake a mother holding her 8 month old baby on her chest were both found alive. The baby had not been fed during those days because her mother could not move to breast feed her. On the seventh day, a young girl and her brother hugged her the whole time. She was found alive but her brother did not survive. In another brave story of survival a young girl filmed on social media while she laid there stuck under piles of concrete. Tsunami, a trained rescued dog, has already saved 13 people, says his owner in Venezuela. After 60 hours being stuck under floors an 80 year old woman was rescued alive. One fisherman recorded the ordeal while fishing as he saw the horrific scene of buildings collapsing. The horrific stories that the Venezuelan people have endured are endless. Their bravery and strength continues to be told. God bless them all. People have been connecting the dots and blaming witchcraft rituals that occurred seconds before the historical shake.
