Living in Faith Not by Sight, A Time to Reflect Godliness

Living in Faith Not by Sight, A Time to Reflect Godliness

Eclipse Trend  Light  Lampstand   Sun Moon Stars Oil

The Great North American Total Solar Eclipse April 8, 2024

When God created the Sun and the Moon it was a time of when the World was in total darkness. In Heaven, the Apostle John tells us that there is no Moon or Sun.

And made God two lights great the light greater to rule the day and the light lesser to rule the night and (He made) the stars

 Genesis 1:16 Hebrew Text Analysis

In the Old Testament the times the Lampstand is mentioned is when it is associated with light. The lampstand can only have light with oil. That is what God wanted us to visualize. However, in the New Testament when Jesus Christ mentioned the lampstand it was for us to believe in us. To reflect within ourselves and where our souls lead through him.

Where does our oil come from? The oil comes from Jesus Christ.

And you shall command the sons of Israel that they bring you oil of olives pure pressed for the light to cause the burn the lamp continually

Exodus 27:20 Hebrew Text Analysis

Each of us are like any of the Virgins. But Jesus Christ tells us the consequences before entering his Kingdom of Heaven. In the Parable that Jesus Christ told us in the Book written by Matthew, it says:

1 “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.

2 Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them,

4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

5 But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

6 “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom [a]is coming; go out to meet him!’

7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.

8 And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’

9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’

10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.

11 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’

12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’

13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour [b]in which the Son of Man is coming.

In the same way today it is a time to reflect. Remembering Jesus Christ during today’s  Great North American total solar eclipse is the best thing we can do. A lot of people will have their eyes glued to the sky. But I believe one should remain focused on Jesus Christ during those 4 minutes when we will be in total darkness. Living in the spirit of Christ. That is what I am sure God would want us to do. Living in faith not by sight.

The word faith is mentioned 243 times in the New Testament. Because the New Testament was written in Greek the root word for faith means to have confidence. Pistis means faith in Greek.

6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world, [d]and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.

9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.

12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

13 I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate,

14 that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing,

15 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only [e]Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords,

16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.

1 Timothy 6:6-16 NKJV
