If you would like to travel but do not know where to go. Well you  may consider the green colored  countries. Not all countries around the world need to see proof of vaccination.

Arrival to Dubai

Dubai is one of the countries listed as green. What does that mean? This means you can go without being vaccinated. The trick is to not do any connections with the red countries which require proof of vaccination like United States. If you do make the wrong connecting flight than you will be not allowed to enter country you are connecting flights. For example, if you are going to your home country Canada and are coming from Dubai, your connecting flight home is Minneapolis in the United States. For the unvaccinated individual it will mean denial into to plane or country (USA). This will mean you will lose your plane ticket and will have to purchase a new ticket that will get you home such as one connecting into Frankfurt, Germany or Paris, France.

I just traveled to Dubai and getting there was easy. All they wanted to see was a negative rt pcr test 72 hours before arrival. As a Canadian there were two things that were not really given before departing Winnipeg. At the Airport Canadian airline Air Canada demanded health travel insurance. There we were without one, but in less than 10 minutes and a couple of online hits and less than 50 dollars you can purchase it from the TD Bank Insurance. The stewardess mentioned CAA but at that moment we did not have it so really after a few scares that we may not fly to Dubai with the help of God it happened.

Departing from Dubai

Heading back to Canada departing from Dubai. The night we departed Dubai, the Air France stewardess told us we had to download the ArriveCan app. With just two hours just to depart and a long line of people after us it wasn't just a hassle but a necessity. So we would not loose our flight back to Canada. What is ArriveCan. It is an application created by the Canadian Government asking you many questions about your country you visited and your health state.

 Green Countries

Connecting Flights for Green countries means a lot. Each country will be different of their requirements vaccinated and non vaccinated. For example going to Dubai, unvaccinated or vaccinated passengers it means proof of  a 72 hour negative rt pcr test for both. Each terminal will show if the country you are traveling to is red or green. The list of green and red countries is found in government websites.

Heading to Dubai from Canada, our connecting flight was Germany. We needed to show them proof of a negative pcr test. The funny thing was that the flight was an hour late leaving from Germany to Dubai. The co-pilot had to do his pcr test before taking off and the results had to be negative.  So that affected all passengers to wait.

On our way back from Dubai to Canada our connecting flight was Paris, France.  Google travel to Paris information and it will list the website.

Found on the France website https://www.interieur.gouv.fr/Actualites/L-actu-du-Ministere/Certificate-of-international-travel :

Effective from 9 June, the movement of travelers between France and foreign countries will resume under terms and conditions that will vary according to the health status of these countries and the vaccination status of travelers.

Accordingly, countries have been classified based on health indicators. The lists of countries may be updated as the epidemic situation evolves.

The countries have therefore been classified as follows:

“Green list” countries or territories : Countries where no active viral circulation has been reported and no relevant variants identified. These are European area countries, plus Argentina, Australia, Bahrein, Brunei, Canada, Chili, Hong-Kong, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, New Zealand, Qatar,Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Singapore, South Korea, Taïwan, Union of Comoros, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay and Vanuatu.

“Amber list” countries : Countries where active viral circulation in controlled proportions has been reported, albeit with no spread of relevant variants. These include all countries not featured on the “green” and “red” lists.

“Red list” countries : Countries where active viral circulation has been reported, including relevant variants. These include the following countries: Afghanistan, Brazil, Costa-Rica, Cuba, Georgia, Iran, Pakistan, Russia, Suriname and Turkey.

The measures applied to vaccinated adults are extended under the same conditions to their accompanying minors, whether vaccinated or not.

Also:

For unvaccinated travelers from Cyprus, Spain, Greece, Malta, the Netherlands and Portugal, a negative PCR or antigen test of less than 24 hours is required.

The Red List Countries as posted from the French government website it lists:

Countries with particularly active circulation of the COVID-19 epidemic or the spread of certain SARS-CoV-2 variants, posing a higher risk of increased transmissibility or immune escape are classified in the red list by order of the Minister of Health, including: Afghanistan, Brazil, Costa-Rica, Cuba, Georgia, Iran, Pakistan, Russia, Suriname and Turkey.

The red list of countries may change depending on how the global epidemic evolves.

Applicable rules depend on the traveller’s vaccination status.

The vaccination schedule is deemed complete 28 days after receiving one dose of Janssen vaccine, 7 days after receiving a second dose of other vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency (Pfizer/Comirnaty, Moderna, AstraZeneca/Vaxzevria/Covishield), and, for persons who have received all the required doses of a WHO-licensed vaccine not approved by the European Medicines Agency, 7 days after receiving an additional dose of an EMA-approved mRNA vaccine.

The measures applied to vaccinated adults are extended under the same conditions to their accompanying minors, whether vaccinated or not.

1) You wish to leave France

Only unvaccinated travelers must give a compelling reason to be allowed to travel to a red list country.

The indicative list of compelling reasons is indicated on the downloadable certificate to leave Metropolitan France below.

The compelling reason will be confirmed in France prior to departure. In the event of a false statement or an invalid reason, boarding will be denied.

No French or foreign national wishing to return to their country of residence or origin will be prevented from leaving French territory (without having any guarantee of being able to return there in the absence of a compelling reason). Travelers wishing to go in a red list country are invited to inquire before their departure about the conditions of entry into their country of destination.

Arriving Back to Canada

As a unvaccinated traveler it is required to not just leave with a negative pcr test from Dubai. Once upon entering Canada, at the Canadian airport of arrival they have people giving out a pcr test which will then results are emailed to you in 2 days. They also give you a home pcr test kit that you will perform on yourself on the 8 th day. On the 15 th day a health official comes to pick up the test.

In Canada,  officials are mentioning that this covid-19 pandemic will all be over by January of 2022. So lets hope that is true and no new ones will exist ever again.
